MISSION OF THE WORKING GROUP

Organization of group and inter-group activities aimed at training, research development, publishing of the scientific results and dissemination in the fields of Structural Tectonic and Volcanic Geomorphology

To this aim the WG was thought as a CoordinationGroup and as a Laboratory, from which new ideas and common and shared initiatives are expected to enhance the researches and the role od Geomorphology in the scientific community.

In particular, the WG aims at:

a) promoting activities for the update of methodological procedures, the definition of guidelines for geomorphological survey and analytical processisng, in order to become a national reference for Structural Tectonic and Volcanic Geomorphology and a national interface with the governmental  institutions for environmental management practices;

b) organizing thematic Workshops and Summer Schools for training and research exchanges;

c) operating a national coordination interfacing with IAG (International Association of Geomorphologists) and in particular with the WG “Tectonic Geomorphology”
