The VIII Meeting of Italian Young Geomorphologists aims at joining together young researchers working in different morphogenetic and morphoclimatic environments and applying specific tools to investigate each specific context. In order to favour a broader exchange of ideas and to promote the scientific collaborations between different groups, the participation of young geomorphologists from Europe and adjoining regions is encouraged. The conference will be organized by the Research Group in Geomorphology of the Earth Sciences Department of the Università degli Studi di Milano and will be held on June 26th-27th in the prestigious “Sala Napoleonica” of La Statale University in Milan City centre. The preliminary program includes: 2 keynote talks, 12 oral presentations, and a rich poster session. A keynote lecture of a senior professor will open the conference illustrating his long experience in different and extreme geomorphological contexts. A young and successful researcher will give the second keynote; he/she will be chosen as a good example to stimulate the work of younger participants. The fieldtrip will be organized by the Research Group in Geomorphology of the Università degli Studi di Torino and it is scheduled on June the 28th. We will visit the Val Veny (Valle d’Aosta, Mont Blanc Massif). During the fieldtrip, focused on the dynamic of mountain environments, participants will be involved in geomorphological mapping, visiting some study sites of the UniTo and UniMi research groups.
